PROBLEM

From a Vision to a Business-Saving Reality

This project began with a simple but ambitious vision: to transform a struggling salon's operations from a chaotic mess of paper and guesswork into a seamless, profitable system. As the visionary behind this initiative, I wasn't just fixing a product—I was creating one from the ground up, turning a core idea into a tangible solution that would save a business.

The challenge was to replace a manual, paper-based workflow that was causing silent but significant losses.

On a busy Saturday, while the salon floor was alive with activity, the cashier was battling a disorganized process. They juggled receipts and scribbled numbers on paper, leaving the owner without a clear picture of daily earnings. Accounting was left to clean up the mess, spending hours correcting errors and chasing missing records.

This wasn't just a design problem; it was a business problem. My mission was to build a system from scratch that would stop the silent leak in revenue, time, and trust.

MY ROLE

Architecting a Strategic Solution

I led the entire UX/UI design, acting as the architect for the app's functionality and user experience. My strategy was to solve the most complex, high-impact problems first, ensuring that every design decision directly contributed to a more efficient and profitable business.

SOLUTIONS

Strategic Decisions Highlights

Decision 1: Designing a Seamless Split Billing Experience

I focused on reimagining the payment flow to solve a core frustration for cashiers and customers. The old way of doing things—with extra buttons and complicated steps for split payments—created long lines and frustration.

My Solution: I designed a single, fluid checkout screen that allowed cashiers to simply enter a partial payment amount. The system automatically calculated and displayed the remaining balance. This eliminated an entire step and made the process feel natural.

The Impact: This simple, intuitive design drastically reduced transaction times and training needs. It made the entire checkout process so natural that cashiers could focus on the customer, not the technology.

Decision 2: Crafting an Intelligent Discount Engine

Managing discounts was a tangled mess of rules. Cashiers often applied the wrong discount or forgot a business policy, leading to lost revenue and headaches for accounting. I decided to build a system that was smarter than the process it replaced.

My Solution: I designed the cart to be intelligent, automatically enforcing business rule of Magnifique. For example, if a cashier applies a discount to a single item, the option to apply a discount to the entire order is automatically disabled.

The Impact: This strategic choice eliminated guesswork for the cashiers and reduced discount-related errors by over 50%. By building the business logic directly into the UI, we protected the salon's revenue and improved cashier confidence.

Decision 3: Accelerating Prototyping with AI

Building a detailed, interactive prototype for a complex system used to take days of manual work, slowing down feedback and limiting our ability to test new ideas. I knew we needed a better way to work.

Figma make (AI tool)

My Solution: I leveraged a new AI tool to rapidly generate functional prototypes. By feeding the AI my design components and key user flows, it could assemble complex models in a fraction of the time.

The Impact: This wasn't about a tech gimmick; it was about working smarter. It saved us over 60% of our prototyping time, which allowed me to test a wider range of ideas and get faster, more meaningful feedback from stakeholders. It shifted my focus from tedious manual tasks to strategic problem-solving.

THE OUTCOME

A Transformed Business

My design decisions led to a system that was more than just a new piece of software—it was a strategic asset for the salon.
